Peer Review Policy
Applied Linguistics: Research, Measurement and Practice (ALRMP) employs a rigorous double-blind peer review system to uphold the highest standards of scholarly integrity and research quality. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated for their originality, methodological soundness, theoretical contribution, and relevance to applied linguistics and language education.
- Pre-Review Assessment
Each submission undergoes an initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor to verify its conformity with the journal’s aims, scope, and ethical guidelines. Manuscripts that fail to meet these criteria or exhibit ethical or formatting issues may be returned to authors without external review. - Double-Blind Evaluation
Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers with demonstrated expertise in the relevant area. Both author and reviewer identities remain strictly anonymous throughout the review process to ensure impartiality and confidentiality. - Evaluation Criteria
Reviewers are requested to assess the manuscript on the following dimensions:- Conceptual and theoretical contribution to applied linguistics
- Methodological rigour and validity of findings
- Clarity, coherence, and academic presentation
- Ethical compliance and scholarly significance
- Editorial Decisions
Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the handling editor may render one of the following decisions: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief after careful consideration of all reports and revisions. - Review Timelines and Revisions
The journal endeavours to complete the initial review within six to eight weeks of submission. Authors invited to revise are expected to address reviewers’ comments comprehensively and resubmit within the specified deadline. Revised manuscripts may undergo further review if necessary. - Ethical and Professional Standards
ALRMP adheres to the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All editors and reviewers are required to maintain strict confidentiality, declare potential conflicts of interest, and ensure objective and constructive evaluation.
Through this structured process, ALRMP aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and academic excellence in the dissemination of applied linguistics research.
